In inglese, usiamo i comparativi per confrontare due cose. Aggiungiamo “-er” alla fine degli aggettivi brevi, oppure usiamo “more” per aggettivi più lunghi.
Struttura
- Aggettivi brevi: aggiungi “-er” + than.
- fast → faster than = più veloce di
- Aggettivi lunghi: usa “more” + aggettivo + than.
- expensive → more expensive than = più costoso di
Esempi
- My car is faster than your car = La mia macchina è più veloce della tua.
- This book is more interesting than that one = Questo libro è più interessante di quello.
- She is taller than me = Lei è più alta di me.
- English is easier than Chinese = L’inglese è più facile del cinese.
- This bag is more expensive than that one = Questa borsa è più costosa di quella.
Eccezioni
Alcuni aggettivi hanno forme irregolari:
- Good → better than = meglio di
- Bad → worse than = peggio di
- Far → further than = più lontano di
